HHS Counseling Center Mission Statement
The mission of the Highland High School Counseling program is to provide and empower all students to reach their fullest potential. Through a comprehensive program, our counseling services will address the academic, career, personal, emotional and social development of all students.
Vision StatementOur vision is that all students will graduate high school, excel in post-secondary education, and pursue the career of their choice in order to be prepared to meet the continually evolving demands of society. It is our goal that each student will be afforded the opportunity to become healthy, capable, and productive members of society.

BeliefsThe school counselors at Highland High School believe that rapport building is the foundation of a therapeutic relationship in meeting students where they are. By being mindful of the diverse strengths, needs and abilities that contribute to the academic, community, personal and social constructs, we believe each student is worthy of empathy. Advocating for our students and effectively communicating with teachers and parents is essential to each student's growth. Lastly, we also believe and rely on data to implement proven programs to aid students in developing skills which will equip them for society.
